Facebook claims to have 400 million active users with 500 thousand active applications.
An average Facebook user spends 55 minutes a day on Facebook. Which means 6 hours a week, 30 hours a month, or 16 days a year. Putting it in perspective, some people spend more time on Facebook than with their parents.
Thus, as Facebook evolves into the ultimate networking platform, Facebook “profile” pages are now tantamount to personal Internet gardens. Why is it so? Read on!
A garden needs 4 things in general:
1. A garden needs plants and flowers:
We have status updates, gossip, compliments, flames and many more.
2. A garden needs decorations:
Photos, notes, links, badges!
3. A garden needs to have it’s weeds removed.
Applications like pillow fight, Save Haiti by Clicking and many more simply pollute and destroy well-manicured gardens.
4. A garden needs to be complimented and liked!
Everybody’s favorite button- Like!
Have you been taking good care of your garden?
