SGGS Conference: One Night in Infinity

DSC06497

Remember the ‘interesting’ event both Chee Yi and I mentioned? Here it is!

For the record, and to put things straight, conferences can be very boring. The whole day long, one sits there, listening, thinking, speaking out, and the whole boring cycle repeats itself in a 9 hour loop. Thus the 5 of us, Max, Gavin, Joshua, Chee Yi and myself thought: “Lets get our asses out of here for one deary night!”

11.15: Gavin’s mom came to pass him some clothing. We hop into his mom’s MPV and 5 minutes later, hey, we are in Sungai Ara!

11.25: 7 Eleven, Happy Mart: Bought water, Kit-kats, cough medicine (We are being very insightful), and we are ready to rock ‘n’ roll!

11.30: @Infinity. (Infinity is a cybercafe) Agenda: Facebook, MH, Serious Sam 2! Finished about one world of SS2 and it was already around 1.45 AM.

1.50: Hungry and sleepy. Of course, its Mamak time! Everything was going good: Roti, bandung, teh tarik and even football on the TV, until.. IT STARTED TO RAIN! Of all things that could happen, it started to rain cat and dogs. Gee, how lucky.

Waiting for the rain to stop

2:30: After lengthy moments of indecision, we decided to run back to USM.

Empty roads stretching into dark voids

2.40: We reached the, USM gate to find the second shocker of the day. IT WAS CLOSED FOR THE NIGHT! Apparently the gate closed at 12am, and the only gate open was the Ivory one, about 3 km away.

Huddling in front of the gate, like illegal immigrants

2.50: Again, indecision. It was either climbing the gate and risk getting caught, or hanging out at Infinity until early morning. Infinity seemed better and we trudged over there.

We ended up getting too tired to play anything

Everyone sort of dosed off after just one round of DoTa.

5.30: Walked back into USM, took a bath, and “Good Morning eveyone!” It was a new day all over again! 48 hours without sleep! (except for the following “short” naps, of course)

Gav. Sooky, dont worry, he isnt being 'curang'

We were not the only ones! Others must have been stealing chickens the night before too.
